They are tasked with visiting the sick at home, the hospitals, the nursing homes, the bereaved and also providing outreach to the greater community. Their ministry is a blessing to others not only within the church walls, but outside the church as well. The Women's Auxiliary have blessed many organizations throughout our local communities. They promote a spirit of giving, friendliness and compassion beyond the church doorsteps!
Outreach Ministry Projects
Upcoming Quarterly Events
1. Tucker Hospice House Wish List – WA will continue to collect items from the THH wish list through the end of June. The list is displayed on the side of the collection container in the vestibule. Whether you can contribute a little or a lot, everything is much appreciated.
2. Pack The Purse - The WA will be collecting medium-to-large, new or gently used purses from April 7th – June 23rd . These purses will be forwarded to the United Way where they will be packed with essential care items (baby lotion, wipes, baby shampoo, washcloth, soap, etc.) purchased or obtained by United Way and distributed to local organizations serving expectant mothers and mothers of young children. If you would like more information or have a purse (or purses) that you would consider donating to this project, please see a member of Women's Auxiliary.
3. Sleeping Mats for the Homeless -
The MMBC Women’s Auxiliary had a very busy month! On April 27th and May 25th, a group of dedicated ladies met to continue working on the Sleeping Mats for the Homeless Project by making plastic yarn, a process called “Plarning”. While a LOT of work was done, there was also lots of conversation, laughter, comradeship, and delicious food. This project has truly energized the group because, in keeping with the WA’s foundational scripture and the MMBC’s 2019 Theme (Impact), it provides participants an opportunity to do work that will benefit people who are going through tough times and who appreciate a helping hand.
The next Plarning day will be Saturday, June 29, 2019. Mark your calendars and make plans to join in the fun.

UMBA WOMEN'S RETREAT - MAY 2019
The Women's Auxiliary went on their annual retreat. They enjoyed fellowship, worship, teaching and preaching. They had an awesome time. The speakers were dynamic. The retreat was indeed spirit filled!
Annual Women's Retreats are sponsored once a year by the United Missionary Baptist Association. These retreats are held for women to get away from the usual distractions and get saturated in the Lord's presence with teaching, preaching, praise and fellowship.
