The purpose of the Women's Auxiliary is to provide aid and comfort to those in need. They are tasked with visiting the sick at home, the hospitals, the nursing homes, the bereaved and also providing outreach to the greater community. Their ministry is a blessing to others not only within the church walls, but outside the church as well. The Women's Auxiliary have blessed many organizations throughout our local communities. They promote a spirit of giving, friendliness and compassion beyond the church doorsteps!
Outreach Ministry Projects
Upcoming Quarterly Events
1. Tucker Hospice House Wish List – WA will continue to collect items from the THH wish list through the end of June. The list is displayed on the side of the collection container in the vestibule. Whether you can contribute a little or a lot, everything is much appreciated.
2. Pack The Purse - The WA will be collecting medium-to-large, new or gently used purses from April 7th – June 23rd . These purses will be forwarded to the United Way where they will be packed with essential care items (baby lotion, wipes, baby shampoo, washcloth, soap, etc.) purchased or obtained by United Way and distributed to local organizations serving expectant mothers and mothers of young children. If you would like more information or have a purse (or purses) that you would consider donating to this project, please see a member of Women's Auxiliary.
3. Thanks to overwhelming support from MMBC members, the WA’s Sleeping Mats for the Homeless project has gotten off to a great start. On March 30th, members of the Women’s Auxiliary, Seniors on the Move, and the Men of Valor met to start processing the thousands of bags that have been donated so far. Tasks for this workshop included sorting the bags by color, folding, and cutting strips in preparation for the next step, which will be looping and rolling the “plarn” (plastic yarn) into large balls. As a reminder, the plarn will be used to make sleeping mats, tote bags, and pillows for the homeless.
There is still much work left to do. Everyone is asked to come out and join in for a day of fun, fellowship, and meaningful work. Future work dates will be announced as they are scheduled.

Annual Women's Retreats are sponsored once a year by the United Missionary Baptist Association. These retreats are held for women to get away from the usual distractions and get saturated in the Lord's presence with teaching, preaching, praise and fellowship.
